Jay Britton is a classically trained soprano with a passion for Tudor History. Her knowledge of the period allows her to perform with a sensitivity and understanding of the history surrounding the music, whilst maintaining a high level of attention to musical details.

Putting on a show.

When performing as The Tudor Songbook, Jay wears historically accurate, made to measure gowns of the highest quality. These gowns consist of several separate garments that come together as a polished finished look that a theatrical costume cannot achieve.

Period Instruments.

The Tudor Songbook only engages instrumentalists of the highest calibre to accompany singing for concerts and events. The lute, spinet, recorders, viols and percussion can all be arranged to achieve an ensemble of any scale. from an intimate lute and voice combination, to a consort fit for the court of Henry viii.
